Founded March 28th, 1885 is vary much a part of the history of Grass Valley, California. By then,
the 49'ers had vanished to be replaced by the deep hardrock mines, The Empire, The Idaho-Maryland and The North Star.
During the Depression, Grass Valley thrived due to those mines. Then in 1955, that storied era
came to an end with the closure of the mines, Empire now being a State park. However, even today,
you'll find hardy souls panning for gold just like the 49'ers of old in the rivers of Nevada County.
The Parlor supports Cleft Palate research at hospitals throughout the state.
